Rotterdam Tour 2022
When promoting the bicycle, Rotterdam wants to give everyone a chance. We do not only pay attention to men’s cycling and cycling for young people, but also to women’s cycling. From 2022 we want to organize an international race for women in our city. For this new competition we aim for the highest category of the UCI. We do not only pay attention to men’s cycling and cycling for young people, but also to women’s cycling. From 2022 we want to organize an international race for women in our city.
For this new competition we aim for the highest category of the UCI. A serious step that fits in with the increasing attention for women’s cycling and which can help us in the talent development of cycling women and girls in the city. After all, nothing is cooler than seeing your cycling idols at work so close.
Dutch girls have quite a few idols they can look up to, because Dutch women’s cycling is currently leading in the world. Anna van der Breggen is the reigning Olympic and world champion on the road and Annemiek van Vleuten, Marianne Vos and Chantal van den Broek-Blaak are also among the top.

With Van den Broek-Blaak (2017 road world champion), Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado (2020 cyclocross world champion) and Lucinda Brand ( 2021 cyclocross world champion), the Rotterdam region alone already has three world champions. We want to organize the new international women’s race in the Rotterdam The Hague Metropolitan Area, which is the economic heart of the Netherlands with 2.4 million inhabitants.
