Tour Féminin
Rotterdam is a candidate for the arrival of the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift. We would like to become the first foreign city to host the final stage of this event announced by the A.S.O. The final stage of the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift in Rotterdam would be an excellent prelude to the Grand Départ of the men’s Tour in 2024 or 2025.
The details regarding what shape the women’s race will take have not yet been announced. We, and no doubt all of the female female cyclists in our region, warmly welcome the return of the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift to the cycling calendar and we would also like to contribute to its success.

There is a historical link between Rotterdam and the Tour Féminin. In 1992 and 1993, our very own Leontien Zijlaard-van Moorsel won the then Tour de France for women. The climax in 1992 is part of our collective cycling memory: Van Moorsel and Jeannie Longo climbing Alpe d’Huez side-by-side, culminating in a nerve-wracking surplace on the flanks of this final climb. Van Moorsel triumphed on the ‘Dutch mountain’, securing the overall victory.
In recent years, Dutch cyclists Marianne Vos, Anna van der Breggen and Annemiek van Vleuten have also played leading roles in La Course by Le Tour de France, the one-day women’s race during the Tour. Van Vleuten (38) is even looking to extend her career to compete in the multi-day version in 2022.
